Consultation Services

Psychological services for public safety agencies aren’t one-size-fits-all. PSPS works alongside HR, command staff, and legal teams to design evaluation programs that are compliant, defensible, and tailored to your agency’s specific needs — whether that’s pre-employment screening, fitness-for-duty assessments, or post-critical incident support.

A consultation is a working conversation, not a sales pitch. Tell us where you are. We’ll tell you what’s possible.

Public safety agencies don’t all look the same — and neither do their psychological service needs. Whether you’re building a pre-employment evaluation program from the ground up, navigating a complex fitness-for-duty situation, or responding to the aftermath of a critical incident, PSPS brings board-certified expertise and operational fluency to every engagement.

We don’t hand you a form and a turnaround time. We work with you.

What a Consultation Covers

For HR and Administrative Staff: We help you understand what a compliant, defensible evaluation process looks like — from candidate flow and scheduling logistics to documentation standards and legal risk mitigation. If you’re managing contracts, timelines, or agency-wide rollout, we speak your language.

For Command Staff and Chiefs: You need a psychological services partner who understands your culture, your liability exposure, and the stakes of getting it wrong. We consult on evaluation criteria, fitness-for-duty protocols, and post-critical incident support structures that hold up under scrutiny — because your people and your agency depend on it.

For Legal and Risk Management: Our evaluations are built to be defensible. We consult on documentation standards, adherence to POST guidelines and relevant case law, ADA considerations, and how to structure your psychological services program to minimize legal exposure while supporting sound personnel decisions.

How It Works

A PSPS consultation is a working conversation — not a sales pitch. We’ll ask about your agency’s size, current evaluation processes, pain points, and goals. From there, we’ll give you an honest picture of where we can add value and what a partnership with us would look like in practice.

Consultations are available by phone or video and typically run 30–45 minutes.
